What Timeline Should You Know for Electronic Invoicing in Morocco 2026-2028?
The electronic invoicing timeline in Morocco 2026-2028 sets three major waves of obligation. The first wave covers large taxpayers (revenue over 50 million DH) starting January 2026. The second covers SMEs between 10 and 50 million DH on July 1, 2026. The third affects micro-businesses and self-employed professionals between 2027 and 2028.
These dates remain indicative and may change based on official DGI communications. Every Moroccan business should plan the migration ahead by at least 6 months to make its processes reliable.
Which Businesses Are Affected in January 2026?
The first DGI wave targets around 4,500 large Moroccan taxpayers: industrial groups, banks, telecom operators, large retail chains. These businesses already exchange electronically with their partners but now must comply with the UBL common format and real-time transmission.
DGI obligations for large taxpayers include: issuance in UBL 2.1 format, transmission within 24 hours, 10-year archiving, and advanced electronic signature. Any technical failure must be reported to the DGI within 48 hours.
What SME Wave Comes in the Second Half of 2026?
The second SME wave targets around 28,000 Moroccan businesses on July 1, 2026. The obligations are the same as for large taxpayers, but with a stronger support system: webinars, a DGI hotline, and a 3-month grace period for initial non-compliance.
January 2026: large taxpayers (revenue > 50 M DH).
July 2026: SMEs (revenue 10-50 M DH).
2027-2028: micro-businesses and self-employed professionals.
