Best POS systems in Egypt (2026), compared
Five POS systems found in Egypt, compared on what each company publishes: prices, devices, offline mode, payments, support and the tax authority link.
In Egypt, five POS systems come up most often: inyad, Foodics, Geidea POS, Daftra and Loyverse. None suits every business: compare published prices, the device each needs, offline selling, local support and what each says about e-invoicing and e-receipts.
Key takeaways
- Five POS systems come up again and again when business owners in Egypt compare: inyad, Foodics, Geidea POS, Daftra and Loyverse.
- They do not aim at the same businesses: some are built for restaurants and cafés, some for shops and services, some for both.
- The clearest difference is transparency: some publish prices in Egyptian pounds, some in US dollars, and some publish no prices at all.
- Check five points before you sign: the device it needs, selling offline, a card terminal linked to the till, support you can reach in Egypt, and what the company says about the e-invoicing and e-receipt systems.
- Ask to see the system running with your own products, at your busiest hour, before you commit.
How we compared
inyad is one of the five POS systems in this comparison. To keep it fair, we only used what each company publishes itself, on its website or in its app store listing, checked on 29 October 2026. When something is not published, we say so rather than guess. Offers change often: check them with the company before you choose.
Each system is looked at on the same criteria:
- Price transparency: prices published or not, in which currency, and with or without a free plan or a trial.
- Device: does it run on a phone, tablet or computer you already own, or does it need the company's own hardware?
- Offline mode: can you keep selling when the connection drops?
- Card payments: is the card terminal linked to the till, and with which provider in Egypt?
- Support in Egypt: a team or phone line you can reach in Egypt, and help with setting up.
- Your trade: restaurants and cafés (tables, kitchen, delivery), shops (barcodes, stock, sizes), and several branches.
- The Egyptian Tax Authority link: what each company says about the e-invoicing system and the e-receipt system. We report only what the company publishes, and we did not check any system against the Authority's official list.
The best POS system is still the one that fits your business.
Prices: who publishes what?
Price is usually the first question, and the answer is not always online. Here is what each company shows at the time of writing.
- A free plan, and prices in Egyptian pounds on its Egypt pricing page: inyad.
- Prices published in Egyptian pounds: Foodics, on a pricing page for Egypt, billed quarterly or yearly, with hardware priced separately.
- Prices published in US dollars: Daftra (monthly or yearly plans, with a 14-day trial) and Loyverse (the POS is free, add-ons are paid).
- No published prices: Geidea POS, which asks you to get in touch.
A published price does not tell the whole story: always ask what it includes (setup, training, hardware, updates) and how long you are committed.
Compare a POS system on what the company publishes, not on what the sales pitch promises.
The five POS systems, one by one
inyad
For whom: shops, grocery stores, cafés, restaurants and salons, from a single counter to several branches.
- A free plan, and prices in Egyptian pounds on the pricing page.
- Runs on ordinary Android and Windows devices: the phone, tablet or laptop you already own, in the cloud or stored on your own device.
- Sells, prints and takes payment offline, then syncs everything on its own when the connection returns.
- Payments in cash, by card, by QR code or on credit, with each customer's balance on their profile.
- Tables, kitchen and delivery for restaurants; barcodes, stock and sizes for shops; bookings and a calendar for salons.
- inyad Invoicing connects to the Egyptian Tax Authority's e-invoicing system.
- Setup at your counter, your catalogue loaded with you, team training, and support by phone and chat 7 days a week.
Foodics
For whom: restaurants, cafés, cloud kitchens and chains. A Saudi company that entered Egypt in 2020, with an office in New Cairo.
- Prices published in Egyptian pounds on a page for Egypt, billed quarterly or yearly, with hardware priced separately.
- The cashier app is designed for iPad, with Android apps for the kitchen display and customer-facing screens.
- Keeps working offline, then syncs when the connection returns.
- A partnership announced in 2022 with Paymob, with Banque Misr as acquiring bank, to link Paymob card terminals to the till.
- Tables, kitchen display, kiosk, online ordering, delivery apps (Talabat, Elmenus and Mrsool), loyalty, and several branches.
- Interface and reports in Arabic, English and French, and a phone line in Egypt.
Good to know: in an article on its website, Foodics says it can issue electronic invoices that meet the Egyptian Tax Authority's requirements. We found nothing about the e-receipt. A free trial and on-site setup are not published.
Geidea POS
For whom: restaurants and hospitality, shops, services and events, for businesses that want payments and the till from one provider. Geidea is a payments company, with addresses in New Cairo and Mokattam.
- Geidea's own devices: an all-in-one POS, a handheld, a mini POS, a kitchen display and a printer, plus taking payments on an Android phone through its app.
- Keeps running offline, then updates when the connection returns.
- Built-in payments, with Geidea as the acquirer: Meeza, Visa, Mastercard, mobile wallets and QR codes.
- Stock with low-stock alerts, staff, reports, delivery app integrations, an online store and payment at the table.
- A hotline in Egypt.
Good to know: no prices are published. The POS page mentions neither the e-invoicing system nor the e-receipt system, only "built-in tax reporting". The till's interface languages, barcodes and multi-branch management are not published.
Daftra
For whom: small and medium businesses in retail and services that want the till and the accounting in one system.
- Prices published in US dollars, monthly or yearly, and a 14-day trial with no card. The cloud POS is included in the plans; offline POS devices are counted per device.
- Runs in a web browser, as an Android and iOS app, and on Windows.
- Sells offline on mobile and desktop, then syncs later.
- Barcodes, electronic scales, receipt printers, linked stock, and branches.
- Interface in Arabic and English, free technical support, and a sales phone number.
Good to know: on its blog, Daftra says its accounting system and its POS issue e-invoices and e-receipts for the Egyptian Tax Authority, and its plans page shows an "Egyptian e-invoice" module. Prices are not in Egyptian pounds, and no card payment provider in Egypt linked to the till is published. We did not find restaurant features (tables, kitchen) on the pages we checked.
Loyverse
For whom: small shops and cafés that want to start without paying. An international company.
- The POS is free on the phone or tablet you already own; add-ons are paid in US dollars, with a 14-day trial for each.
- Sells offline.
- Stock, barcode scanners, a free kitchen display, a customer display, loyalty, and several stores.
- Arabic is among the app's languages.
Good to know: we found no presence in Egypt, and no local phone support or setup. The payment providers linked to it are foreign, none of them Egyptian. It mentions neither the e-invoicing system nor the e-receipt system.
Which POS system for your business?
A café or restaurant
Look for table management, a kitchen display and delivery app orders on the till itself. inyad, Foodics and Geidea POS cover restaurants, Foodics is built entirely for them, and Loyverse offers a free kitchen display for a small café.
A shop, grocery store or supermarket
You need barcodes, stock that goes down with every sale, sizes and colours, and often a scale. Check selling on credit too: many customers pay at the end of the month. inyad, Geidea POS, Daftra and Loyverse cover shops.
A barber shop or beauty salon
The till has to work with appointments and customer history. inyad lists bookings and a calendar; Geidea POS and Daftra mention service businesses, without details on appointments in the pages we checked.
Several branches
You need one catalogue and one set of prices, each branch's stock, and combined reports. inyad, Foodics, Daftra and Loyverse mention managing several branches or stores; Geidea POS does not publish it. Ask which plan includes it.
With inyad POS, several devices share one catalogue and one set of prices, and you follow every location's sales from your phone.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best POS system in Egypt?
No single system suits everyone. A restaurant looks for tables and a kitchen display, a grocery store for barcodes, a scale and selling on credit. Start from your business, then compare published prices, the device needed, offline selling, support in Egypt, and what the company says about the Egyptian Tax Authority.
Is there a free POS system in Egypt?
Yes. inyad has a free plan, and Loyverse offers a free POS with add-ons paid in US dollars. Daftra offers a 14-day trial, which is not a free plan. Check what the free plan includes, and what becomes paid as your business grows.
Do I have to buy the POS hardware from the company?
Not always. inyad runs on ordinary Android and Windows devices, Daftra in a web browser and on Android, iOS and Windows, and Loyverse on the phone or tablet you already own. The Foodics cashier app is designed for iPad, and Geidea POS runs on its own devices or on an Android phone through its app.
Are these systems connected to e-invoicing and the e-receipt?
At the time of writing (October 2026), here is what each company publishes: inyad Invoicing connects to the e-invoicing system, Foodics mentions electronic invoices, Daftra mentions e-invoices and e-receipts, and Geidea POS and Loyverse mention neither system. We did not check any of them against the Authority's official list, and the e-receipt is being rolled out in phases: check where your business stands with the Egyptian Tax Authority or your accountant.
